Causal Paths in Temporal Networks of Face-to-Face Human Interactions

چکیده

In a temporal network causal paths are characterized by the fact that links from source to target must respect chronological order. this article we study structure in networks of human face interactions different social contexts. static transitive i.e. existence link $a$ $b$ and $c$ implies path via $b$. constraint introduces time correlations affects transitivity. A probabilistic model based on higher order Markov chains shows can invalidate transitivity present only when gap between consecutive events is larger than average value negligible below such value. The comparison densities accessibility matrices representation be used with good approximation. Moreover, quantify extent causally connected region over time.

Temporal networks of face-to-face human interactions

The ever increasing adoption of mobile technologies and ubiquitous services allows to sense human behavior at unprecedented levels of details and scale. Wearable sensors are opening up a new window on human mobility and proximity at the finest resolution of face-to-face proximity. As a consequence, empirical data describing social and behavioral networks are acquiring a longitudinal dimension t...

Modeling human dynamics of face-to-face interaction networks

Face-to-face interaction networks describe social interactions in human gatherings, and are the substrate for processes such as epidemic spreading and gossip propagation. The bursty nature of human behavior characterizes many aspects of empirical data, such as the distribution of conversation lengths, of conversations per person, or of interconversation times. Despite several recent attempts, a...

Analysing Face to Face Computer-mediated Interactions

Detailed analysis of face to face computer mediated interactions implies a study of a corpus composed of the interaction traces produced by the collaborative tool and video and audio recordings. Because of their separate nature, it is frequently difficult to perform this joint analysis. In order to facilitate such analyses we propose a model for describing corpora composed of sources from diffe...

Four Challenges That Global Health Networks Face

Global health networks, webs of individuals and organizations with a shared concern for a particular condition, have proliferated over the past quarter century. They differ in their effectiveness, a factor that may help explain why resource allocations vary across health conditions and do not correspond closely with disease burden. Drawing on findings from recently concluded studies of eight gl...
